My beautiful Cali

I could not resist putting these pictures out there. It is so fun for me to be able to buy a dress for a girl rather than another tie for another boy! Yaaaa!

Well it is safe to say that Christmas has not ended. The Easter bunny was a hit....eash of the kids recieved something they really really wanted. Thanks Easter Bunny. Oh ya and of course no sleeping in for Mom and Dad, we had to up at the crack of dawn to see what the bunny left.
Later that day we had Bubbas family over for dinner. I love to have an excuse to pig out. Ham Turkey Ahhhh I llove Holidays. After dinner we colored easter eggs and now have egg sals for a year. I love to see my kids have a great time. I also love to teach them the reason for these holidays and I am thnkfull for my knowledge in Jesus Chirst.

Easter at the Morriss'

Saturday morn was our annual HOA easter egg hunt. It was as usual 30 below 0 in Utah. The kids hands were too cold to pick up eggs and if they could see past the ice crystals in their eyes and not be pushed down by the other excited children, maybe then they could find the golden egg. Of course BUbba in on the HOA board and helped hide the eggs. Now my honest husband of course did not tell the kids "GO FOR THE PURPLE ONES"(which had the big prize). Yes he did! Badge Trey and Miles did not find the right purple egg, however Cali my smart girl did, without her fathers dishonesty. She won a bike. Go Cali!! I do have an idea though...if my kids could go that fast at cleaning our home wow wopuld it be clean, I need tocome up with a system don't I. Like hide a 5 dollar bill under a pair of undies or a sock???? Then they would go for it huh! Ya good idea!

The life and times of Bubba

Last weeks blog made me realize I am a political nerd so this blog will have no political statements. Don't worry, there are many more crazy political ideas to come. This week I thought I should write about how children are bad for your ego. Miles, my 5 year old just told me he thinks it is weird that his Dad is fat and his Mom is skinny. When I asked him why that is weird he said, "why would she marry you?" The hardest part is every parent knows that children will tell the truth so ....
The point is, if you want to have a good self image, don't talk to your kids. My other thought is just wait until they are 18, buy them luggage, and kick them out. My parents did it with me and I now understand why.

The Life and Times of Bubba

An historic day, why do you ask is it historic? Today is historic because it is the first time I have ever blogged. It is either the start of an amazing blog full of opinions about things like sports, politics, religion, money and all the other things it is not polite to talk about at parties or, something I will do two or three times and get bored with and never do again. So, no matter if after reading you think I am a jerk or great I hope you will be entertained. Now for today's opinion:

We received in the mail today a notice of the "Economic Stimulus Payment Notice". This letter from the IRS starts with, "we are pleased to inform you that the US Congress passed and President Bush signed into law the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008." After reading, it informs you that they are sending you money for no reason other than you are a US citizen. Our family will get about $2,400 from the government sometime in May. I have so many issues with this I don't know where to start. First let me start with this, our government has been spending more than it makes every year of Bush's presidency and most of the years I have been alive. Now our president thinks it is a good idea to spend even more. It is like a wife saying to a husband we are overdrawn in our checking account, so the husband says, lets buy a boat, that should fix it. My next issue is this, where did the government get the money? No answer you give to that will make me think it is OK to spend it. Third, if you think it is a good idea to "stimulate the economy" by giving away money, why not give everyone a million dollars. If $2,400 will fix the economy, wont a million fix it even better. Think of all the stuff you would buy if you and every other US citizen were given a million dollars, wouldn't this spur the economy?! Of course that is a terrible idea and so is the "Economic Stimulus Act of 2008". Unless we start electing true conservatives our economy is done for.

Trey Earns His Wolf in Cub Scouts

Tonight is a special night for our Trey...he earned his Wolf in the scouting program. In order to earn this award he had to work on projects such as a derby car and neighborhood projects, actually I am not sure if he even worked on it...he is just the right age now to get it. No really he did do alot. We are so proud of him and the work he puts into earning his awards. Mom is glad this level is over.

Our Cruise

Bub and I recently returned from our first cruise to the Caribbean. We along with 16 other couples had such a great time. Bub golfed on Jamaica, we swam with the sting rays and the Cayman islands, and visited the old Mayan ruins in Cozumel. We cannot wait to go again.
